Nhar il-Ħadd 29 ta’ Ġunju, P. Salvino Caruana iċċelebra il-ħamsin sena mill-Ordinazzjoni Saċerdotali tiegħu. P. Salvino kien ordnat saċerdot fis-sena tal-Ġublew 1975 fil-Bażilika ta’ San Pietru fil-belt tal-Vatikan, mill-Qdusija tiegħu il-Papa San Pawlu VI. Bejn is-16 u l-20 ta’ Ġunju grupp ta’ aħwa Agostinjani inġabru għal ftit jiem ta’ rtir f’Dar il-Ħanin Sammaritan f’Santa Venera. Matul dawn il-jiem l-aħwa kellhom l-opportunità li jieqfu ftit mir-rutina tal-ħajja u jgħixu mumenti ta’ aktar skiet, talb u riflessjoni akkumpanjati minn Fr Paul Chetcuti SJ li anima dawn il-ġranet. Festa Familja Agostinjana 2025
Din is-sena l-Kummissjoni Provinċjali tal-Lajċi Agostinjani reġgħet organizzat il-Festa Familja Agostinjana. Din saret nhar is-Sibt, 7 ta Ġunju 2025. L-iskop ta’ din l-attivita’ hija li l-lajċi midħla tagħna l-Agostinjani f’Malta u Għawdex, jiltaqgħu flimkien biex jitolbu, jieħdu gost f’ambjent rilassanti u sabiħ, u fuq kollox jikbru fil-ħbiberija u l-komunjoni bejniethom. The Order of Hermits of Saint Augustine (Augustinians) is a religious order of brothers (many of whom are ordained priests) within the Catholic Church. The Order was founded in 1256 under the Rule of Saint Augustine.
Between the 16th and the 20th of June, a group of Augustinian friars gathered for a few days of retreat at the Good Samaritan House in Santa Venera. During these days the friars had the opportunity to stop for a while from the routine of life and live moments of silence, prayer and reflection accompanied by Fr Paul Chetcuti SJ who animated these days. The reflections shared by Fr Paul offered interesting points of reflection about one’s particular call and journey in the Church.
These days were also a beautiful opportunity for the friars from different communities to come together and share the beauty of the Augustinian religious life beyond the daily commitments and everything that usually shapes the days with so much activity. The days of the retreat also provide an occasion for a wonderful and calmer experience of prayer and an opportunity of spiritual renewal. Another group of friars will take part in another retreat that will take place in Gozo next October.

On Sunday, 22nd June, at the Church of St. Nicholas of Tolentino in Ħal Tarxien, a special Mass was held during which three youth groups were commissioned in the name of the Christian community to embark on different experiences of a living Church abroad this summer.
The Amigos group, led for the 31st time by Fr. Mario Abela and Fr. Terence Spiteri, will be leaving Malta for Iquitos, Peru, to carry out missionary work alongside the Augustinians living in Peru, serving poor families and children.
The Camino group, composed of various educators from St. Augustine College and led by Fr. Terence, will undertake a long pilgrimage walk from Portugal to Spain. This spiritual journey offers the pilgrims an opportunity to deepen their discovery of God and others.
At the end of July, the Tagaste group will join thousands of young people from around the world to share their faith and live an experience of renewal during the Jubilee of Hope for young people. They will be accompanied by the Provincial, Fr. Leslie Gatt.
Let us continue to pray for these young people, and for all youth who are taking part in similar experiences during this time, that they may continue to discover themselves and God.
