On Tuesday 17th December our Prior Provincial took part in a meeting of the Provincials of the South of Europe discussing the project of a common Novitiate for the provinces of Spain, Italy and Malta. At the moment there are two Italian novices at the Noviciate.  The Noviciate is being held in Pavia in the North of Italy, the place where the relics of our holy father Saint Augustine are venerated. The Provincials of the respective provinces held meetings with the formation personnel evaluating the formation journey and the program being followed at the present novitiate. Discussions regarding the vision and future for the Noviciate were also held. The Provincial Fr Leslie Gatt, held also a meeting with the novices sharing some reflections about the presence of the Augustinians in Malta.

Under the direction of Chev Mro Mark Agius, the St Paul Metropolitan Orchestra together with sopranos Karen Gatt Darmenia, Frances Catherine Farrugia and Anita Vella Bondin, tenors Joseph Aquilina and Mark Edward Mifsud and bass James Vella Bondin, accompanied by the Anacrusis Concert Choir, performed 'Joy to the World' at St Augustine's Church Valletta in aid of the restoration works of the Old Chapel on 12.12.2019

This concert was preceded by a tour in the museum and shelter and followed by a dinner at the Refectory of the Priory.

Both the Primary and Secondary members of the learning community of St Augustine College, have organised a special event for Advent initiative through the Chaplaincy Teams. Students in the Primary wore a Christmas sweater, while the students in the Secondary wore a tracksuit of their choice in exchange of making a donation of foodstuffs, stationery or clothes to the Millennium Chapel run by the Augustinian Community. In this way, students were made aware of children their own age who lack basic needs in this time of year, due to their social circumstances. We thank the students, their families and educators for their generous contributions.

On Friday 13th December the Maltese Augustinian Province gathered for a think tank session on youths and how they can accompany them better in their pastoral ministry. Various sepakers offered their time and reflection: Roberto Calleja (Youth Worker Junior College), Emma Lanzon, Evan Demicoli (MCYN) and Andre Debattista (a youth close to our Augustinian Family). Thanks for their time and open discussion. It was a fruitful and insightful moment for all who were present.
