Youths on a Mission to Kenya

During the month of July, six young people together with Fr Mario and Fr Terence will leave Malta for Kenya to take part in a missionary experience with the Augustinian Friars serving there. This experience will be an opportunity for service, encounter, and solidarity with communities in need.

Over the past months, the group has taken part in various formation and fundraising activities in preparation for this mission. Among the activities organised were the sale of Mince Pies and Kwareżimal, prepared by the young people themselves with the help of other members from the province’s youth groups. Other initiatives included a hike organised together with the group participating in the Camino experience this summer, the sale of Christmas Logs and Figolli, as well as a Pasta Night prepared by the Amigos group. Additional activities included a plant sale at St Augustine College together with the Platt Ross initiative involving the students.

The final stage of preparation will include a live-in for the group at the beginning of June, followed shortly afterwards by a Send-Off Mass to be held on 28th June.

We wish these young people every blessing for this missionary experience and pray that the Lord may guide and strengthen them in this beautiful choice of service towards the poor and those most in need.
