During this year, when the Maltese Augustinian Friars are celebrating the 200th anniversary of the foundation of the Maltese Province, the Prior General of the Augustinian Order, Padre Alejandro Moral Antón OSA will be making his Canonical Visit in the Maltese Province from 16 to 24 May. This will be his first official visit to the Maltese Province during which he will be visiting the various communities and other realities of the Province.
In the course of the days he will be in Malta, he will be having individual meetings with each religious member of the Province as well as with each Augustinian Community: in Rabat Malta, Valletta, Pieta’ Tarxien, Paceville and Rabat Gozo. He will be meeting also with Augustinians residing at the House of the Clergy in B’Kara. He will be conferring the Affiliation of the Order to 10 persons. A very important visit will be that to the Augustinian Schools: the Primary School in Marsa and the Secondary School in Pieta’. He will also be officiating the Titular Feast of the Parish of St. Augustine as well as leading the procession and the mass of the feast of St. Rita in Valletta. All the lay people that are in some way connected with the Augustinians will also be meeting the Prior General. Another important meeting will be with His Excellency the Archbishop of Malta, Mons. Charles J. Scicluna and the Bishop of Gozo, His Excellency Mons. Mario Grech. This Canonical Visit shall end with a fraternal meeting with all the religious members of the Maltese Augustinian Province.
The Prior General will be accompanied by one of his assistants, Padre Luis Marín de San Martín OSA who is responsible for all the Augustinians in Southern Europe.
