The Maltese Augustinian Province with great sadness announces the death of Fr Paul Formosa OSA who on Thursday 26th December 2024 went to meet the Risen Lord whom he loved and served so much during his life. Fr Paul these last few months was living at the Dar tal-Kleru (Clergy House) after several years in our Augustinian community in Rabat.
As an Augustinian religious, Fr Paul lived and served for many years in our community as a Prior at Ħal Tarxien, teacher and rector of St. Augustine College. These last years he was a member of our community in Rabat while serving in the provincial council. He also spent 20 years of his life as a missionary in Brazil.
The funeral mass of our brother Fr Paul Formosa will be celebrated on Saturday 28th December at Saint Mark’s Church in Rabat at 9.30am. Before the mass his body will be laid in state in St. Mark’s Priory for the last respects of the public. A private burial will then take place in the tombs of the Augustinian Province in the cemetery of Santa Maria Addolorata.
The Augustinian friars recommend him in prayer so that the Lord may receive him in his mercy and give him the payment of all that he has worked for during his life.
