Between Monday 3 November and Sunday 9 November, the Church of Baħrija, on the outskirts of Rabat, celebrated the Feast of St Martin. Throughout the week, various celebrations were held, including beautiful events for the local children, which saw a very positive participation.
On Saturday evening, a Solemn Mass was celebrated, presided over by the Prior Provincial, Fr Leslie Gatt OSA. This was followed by a procession with the statue of the saint through the streets of the village centre.
The following day, Sunday 9 November, the traditional fair—an annual hallmark of this feast in the small village—took place.
The Augustinian friars have been serving the community of Baħrija, and particularly the Church of St Martin, for the past ten years.
