Between June 16 and 20, The Augustinian Centre for Theological Studies in Valladolid in Spain, hosted The Assembly of the Organization of Augustinians of Europe. Malta was represented by the Prior Provincial Fr. Leslie Gatt O.S.A.. This meeting brought together representatives from all the countries where the Augustinian friars work, together with the Prior General, the Vicar General and the Assistants responsible for the European Circumscriptions.
Along these days, the Assembly discussed Synodality, the attention to the protection of minors and vulnerable people, and the formation of new candidates. Each representative had the opportunity to present the reality of the Augustinian presence in his respective country and the challenges the Order and the Church are particularly facing.Â
In the Monastery of Valladolid, lives a big community of Augustinian friars which incorporates also a formation house where young Augustinians coming from various countries around the world receive their initial formation. The Theological Center serves also Diocesan Seminarians and candidates from other Orders and Congregations, together with a good number of  laypeople.
