Between the 13th and 17th of October a group of Augustinian friars gathered for their annual retreat at Stella Maris Retreat Centre in Żebbuġ Gozo. During these days the brothers had the opportunity to break away from the routine of life and experience moments of greater silence, prayer and reflection accompanied by Fr Noel Debono who animated these days. Fr Noel’s reflections, inspired by the gospel of St. John and the signs of Jesus, offered a continuous invitation to reflect on the Word of God that touches us in our everyday life. On the last day of the retreat, the Augustinian friars celebrated mass at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Pinu.

These days offered also a wonderful opportunity for the religious from different communities to come together and share the beauty of Augustinian religious life beyond the work and whatever normally makes up the days with so much activity. The days of the retreat also provide an occasion for a beautiful experience of prayer in a calmer way and a wonderful opportunity for sharing. Earlier this year, another group of brothers had participated in a retreat held in Malta last June.
