A group of Augustinians gather for a few days of retreat

Between the 14th and 18th of October a group of Augustinian religious gathered for their annual retreat at Stella Maris House in Żebbuġ Gozo. During these days the friars had the opportunity to stop from their daily routine and live moments of more silence, prayer, reflection and sharing, accompanied by Fr Richard Nazzereno Farrugia who serves as Archpriest of Xaghra. For several years he also worked as Rector of the Gozo Seminary.  Fr Richard’s reflections put a clear invitation for one to reflect on his reality in a confrontation with texts from the word of God that provoke the call of each one as baptized, as religious and as Priests. On Friday, the brothers celebrated the Eucharist in the sanctuary of Our Lady of Pinu.

These days were also a beautiful opportunity for the friars from different communities to come together and share the beauty of the Augustinian religious life beyond the daily commitments and everything that usually shapes the days with so much activity. The days of the retreat also provide an occasion for a wonderful and calmer experience of prayer and an opportunity of spiritual renewal.
