Christmas Time with the Augustinian Youth

The Christmas season is a time that brings us all together, and this is no less true within our youth communities. Apart from the regular weekly meetings, which were used to reflect more deeply on the season of Advent, several other activities related to this time of year also took place.

On Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd December, a lovely group of Year 11 students spent a night together as part of a “Come and See” experience, where they had the opportunity to observe and live alongside the community of the Friars. In the evening they joined the Tagaste Youths and were invited to take part in their activities throughout the whole month of December.

On Saturday 6th December, the Augustinian Youths met for a half-day retreat entitled “Walking in the Footsteps of St Joseph.” This was led by Fr John Mizzi and focused on the virtues of St Joseph.

On Monday 8th December, the Tagaste Youths met for an afternoon together. They began with a short reflection in the Baħrija chapel linked to the theme of Peace, followed by a hike together, and concluded by sharing a meal.

On Saturday 20th December, the Augustinian Youths gathered for their Christmas Dinner, while on Monday 22nd December the Tagaste Youths also met for their Christmas Dinner.

On Monday 29th December, the Tagaste Club held its party for students from Year 7 to Year 10. The Year 11 students lent a helping hand and then joined the Tagaste Youths, where together they celebrated the end of the year. It was a beautiful moment of reflection on what had passed, with hope for what was to come, and a joyful time spent together informally.

On New Year’s Eve, a group of Augustinian Youths celebrated the end of 2025 and welcomed 2026 together as a community.

Finally, on Saturday 3rd January, a Mass and get-together were held for all the volunteers who had taken part, or will be taking part, in the mission organised by Amigos.

We thank God for these beautiful moments shared together.
